The only thing I've noticed about Goodland, it that it's either the hottest or the coldest place in Kansas (on average). If you like wide variances in temperature, I'd say, go for it!

Goodland Kansas would be a GREAT place for a restaurant. Sure, Colby seems to be growing faster, but Goodland has that small town feel and friendly people that Colby does not. I know there are several great things going, like the college and a new grocery store opening up...as well as a new spice factory - things are happening, so take a look. Also - you might want to contact Economic development, they know of some incentives that are available.

That whole corner of the state all the way over to Hays and down to Garden City is losing population. That beign said after looking though some info and talking to a friend in Colby I say Colby would be the better place for a resteraunt.
Even though according to the City and the 2000 Cencus it has lost little over 350 people in 10 years.

I work at a real estate office in Goodland and we have a wonderful restraunt for sale. Its is downtown, very centered around the locals and in my opinion would be a great investment opportunity. You can view this restraunt on our website at preferred-property.org. Goodland is a great little town, especially if you are raising a family and want to keep those tradtional values. We are also getting a new grocery store along with a new bar that opened up and a hotel!
