Contact Kansas EEOC just google it, and file a claim. most small employers are ignorant of laws and will gladly settle before a bunch of lawyers come to town. Firing a women for being pregnant is a discriminatory practice

thank you everyone for taking the time to read this. we are all looking for jobs at the moment. we could only wish the owner of the store could see her for what she really is. "o" she still talks about all of us, and her assistant manager left the next day, she was told its your job or your children and she chose her children

I doubt you have a case in the state of Kansas. When I do the new hire orientation our employees are told that they can be fired at any time for no reason whatsoever, as per Kansas law.

Kansas is a RTW state. Be sure to read the laws or contact a lawyer.

I think the boss shot themselves in the foot by stating a reason for the termination Particularly saying "You're Pregnant"

Exactly... "at will employment" does not mean you (the employee) doesn't have rights.

You are an at will employee and can be let go for almost any reason. This said, I am sure they can not discriminate against several status. Familial status, color, race, religion, creed, age and a couple of others. They can say I don't like your clothing and fire you, but the pregnancy one could very well be a sui juris situation. At minimum most employers get very nervous when you hire an attorney and serve them a court date. Usually the company settles out of court to make it go away.

KAnsas is a right to work state. The boss can fire you at any time without explanation. However, most still don't want to do this as they dislike paying out unemployment.
