Parts aren't bad. I know it's a lot prettier just about anywhere else in the state!

Well, you kinda of ruined this thread by posting those photos didn't you?

Kansas is not flat! look at these photos of kansas!

I mean, wow, even where there is river involved, it's pretty flat. If it rains one inch, does wichita flood? haha.

I know the entire state is not flat, just thought that post was funny for this thread.

When I lived in KS we had cyclones but no tornadoes! My Aunt Dorothy had a dream once....
HONEST, I had an Aunt Dorothy. It's really hilly & beautiful in parts of KS. I'm from the Sabetha - Hiawatha area.

Anyone heard the term "amarougee"? Not sure how it would be spelled but that's how it sounds. I've never heard it anywhere but KS. Meant way out in the country...uninhabited... trees, weeds, bushes, all grown up.

We used to drive between KS & IN before there were interstates. (Yes, I'm OLD!) <G> Anyway, if you get on highway 36 you will know for sure that KS isn't flat. About 3 yrs. ago we drove from IN to WA state. On the way back we got off the interstate in Idaho & drove only state highways. it was great... drove from KS to IN on the road we used when I was growing up. It was fun.

Sounds like good times. I'd like to do that. My family drove from Kansas to Indiana in 1960 -- all seven of us in a Chevy. What a trip. Those were the days.

There is an Amarugia (sp?) wildlife area in Missouri....southeast of Freeman.
