My great grandparents (George Washington Garrison & Nancy) came from Illinois in a covered wagon in the mid 1880's and raised their family in Greensburg, Ks. My grandfather Charles Edgar Garrison and his brothers and sister were married there. They worked on the Big Well there. They are buried in the Fairview cemetery in Greensburg and I am wondering if the cemetery was damaged? We are coming through there around the 4th of July and want to go to the cemetery and vist the town. Does anyone know the directions to the cemetery?
I am so sad about what has happened to Greensburg as I feel a connection to it. I pray for the people.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

My grandfather, J. Floyd Burt, grandmother,Lena Skelton Burt, stepgandmother Ethel Burt, and aunt, Eloise Burt are also buried there. My mother and aunt grew up there. We visited the cemetary in July and found it untouched by the tornado and very peaceful. The pictures we took is rather haunting. Our prayers are also with the folks in Greensburg.

I too was wondering about the condition of the cemetary. My parents, Grandparents and an Aunt and Uncle are buried there and it was great to hear someone was there and cemetary is in good shape, thank you so much for responding on this.
Clay

My stepfather and his parents are buried in Greensburg, and I pray all is well for those living and those resting in peace, plan to go there in a few months to visit their graves, and see the town I started school in as a child, but moved to Haviland in 2nd grade....Does anybody know Gerald Moorehead from Greensburg??? He and his wife were family friends and I would love to find them before my planned visit... I was part of the Parkin family

I am searching for information about my ggmother Olley P. Morris Holeman why died in 1911. She is buried somewhere near Greensburg Ks. She was married to Ezra Holeman. Hello PSgrew, Junior Member. Ollie P. Morris married Ezra Holeman on Nov. 8, 1906. She died Mar. 27, 1911. She and Ezra were parents to:
(1)Helen O. (married to Lewis E. Loveland. He was born 2/2, 1898 and died 2/1974). Helen was born May 6, 1909 in Mullinville, KS, married Lewis Apr. 29, 1929; died in Lamar, Colorado Sept. 8, 1987.
(2) Ruby Fern (I knew her as Aunt Fern), married Samuel W. Joel Oct. 26, 1940. Fern was born July 16, 1910, Mullinville, KS, died Jan. 27, 1995 in Beaumont, California.
When Ollie died, Helen was 2 and Fern was 3.
Interesting fact: Ezra married Myrtle Bond on May 23, 1911 (just 2 months after Ollie's death).
Ezra and Myrtle had Freddie C (born 8/29/1912; Delbert R. (Flo McClaren)(born 10/26/1913; Zella M (Merle J Sprott) (born 10/30/1915); Clarence Nelson Holeman (1st wife: Erma Margaret Roadhouse, married June 16, 1945, divorced )(2nd wife: Peggy Coburn, married Jan. 3, 1956); Laveta E. Holeman (born 1922, died 1925); Melvin L. (Mary Lou Seals) born 10/16/1924.
Fern helped care for the younger ones, especially the baby that died when she was 2.
Ollie, Ezra and Myrtle are all buried at the Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg, KS.
I hope this helps you out some. Good luck.
