What do you expect people to do with this "information?" If you're not uneasy, then why would you expect anybody else to be?

To let people know topeka isn't this city they think it is, but some people get uneasy when you share information that suprises them.

By sensational, I meant your title is a bit sensational. Wichita and Kansas City, KS both have higher crime rates. Sure, they're part of much larger population areas, but "Topeka's crime rate is one of the worst in Kansas history!"? Um, no. And anyway, all you've shown with your data is that Topeka's crime rate has dropped significantly over the past 10 years. That's a good thing, isn't it?

Why would a story about shootings in a city the size of Topeka surprise anyone? Honestly.

@athfo..Re-read the title please I said ONE of the worst in kansas history, which means i was including wichita and kansas city. But yes topeka's crime rate is one of the worst in kansas history, just check the stats, and I didn't show you the newer stats, which shows the crime rate has gon back up dramatically.. @ quesera...I don't know why it would suprise anyone, I thought people knew what goes in topeka, but i guess not.

I have heard Topeka as being pretty rough for it's size, however it looks like it's getting better and that's great! Still, with any bigger city comes the possibility of more crime. That said, KCMO and KCK are known as "crime ridden" to some, but almost all of the violent crime is in a couple spots the rest is just fine. I would wager that is the case with Topeka. The way the OP talks about it, it seems like he wants Topeka to be hood.

@pioner88..Yes that was the point I was trying to get across..that topeka is a dangerous city for it's size. But topeka was hood before I was born, so I'm just trying to shed light on light(check the links).

If you are uneasy about it, why don't you leave?
Topeka would be a breeze?? If you came to the hood in Topeka you would be overwhelmed. Obviously, you know nothing.
