I was on my way to work the other morning and got pulled over for doing 73 in a 55 (18 miles over) I was unable to provide my proof of insurance or my registration, I have both just didn't have them in my car. I was given a ticket and a court date and on the ticket it said "not prepayable". will i really have to go to court for this or can i bring in my proof of insurance and registration and only pay a fine??

Where was your ticket (city, county or state highway)? Normally you can simply bring in your insurance and registration and show that it was effective on the day you got your speeding ticket and not pay any fine. Your best bet is to call the court # that is on your ticket and simply ask. Because of your 'triple whammy' (ticket, insurance, and registration), they probably still want you to show up for your court date to lecture you. I can see not having proof in the vehicle for up-to-date insurance but no registration too?

The local paper where I used to live always put the court news. For the ones cited for no insurance all it would say was brought in proof

In Pike County Ky. and there wasn't a phone # on my ticket to call...but I can get ahold of them. I know, I have learned my lesson. Will this make my insurance go up??
