My husband and I are looking for rental housing in the London/Corbin area. We are planning on moving after our 2 children, ages 8 & 5, get out of school for the summer, so around the end of May or beginning of June. We do have a small dog, about 10 pounds, that we would love to be able to bring with us. She is completely house broke and crate trained. We know that we may not be able to bring her though.

We are looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom, 3 would be best. Would like to pay less than $500/month, maybe a little more if some or all utilities included.

My grandparents live in London about 12-14 years ago, my step-grandma is from the area. I would go visit them in the summer. I loved being down there, but I never got to see Cumberland Falls. This past summer my husband and I went to the falls and fell in love with the area. It just felt like home, so we have decided to move down there. This is going to be a huge leap for us. We are up and leaving everything we know. We do have some money saved and would possibly be able to pay a couple of months of rent since we do not currently have jobs lined up. We are coming down in a couple of weeks to hopefully find housing and maybe even jobs, then will return in the summer.

If you know of any possible housing and/or jobs, please let me know. We are super excited to be moving down there, but me being me- I am starting to panic a little! Thanks in advanced!!!

It will be difficult to find a home that cheap. There are apartments for under $500. I recommend avoiding East Bernstadt, otherwise anywhere in Laurel County is nice. Fastest growing area is West of London along Highway 192 and East of London along East Highway 80. Best elementary schools - Bush, Cold Hill and Sublimity.

Before anything else, I would be sure of jobs down here. Is there a speciality when it comes to a job either you or your husband? That could impact where you live in Corbin or London.

As to Rental houses, I had a member of the Chamber of Commerce tell me one time that what London needed was more rental houses. That was several years ago, but I don't know how much has changed since then.

You might conisder leasing with the option to buy, I know of one house being rented/sold through that method.

You might take a look at these sites.

I am looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom house for rent in the Corbin/London or Williamsburg area. My husband and I own and operate a business in Corbin, KY. We have a small house trained dog and a cat. We have excellent references. We would like to move asap. We are having to drive an hour everyday to work and and hour back home and the traveling in getting old. Thank You

I can't get into the olaclassifieds.com any more? Wrote to them. They said it's ok. It's the only site that won't load on my puter. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Cat
