On Second Street in Louisville, by the University of Louisville campus, is a large (about 40 feet high) monument to Kentucky's confederate war dead.

Kentucky sent huge numbers to both sides. Including a few nationally popular individuals to the CSA.

John C. Breckinridge and Simon Bolivar Buckner are a couple I can think of.

This is why I hate this state.

Also, why don't they put swastikas on German license plates while they're at it?

First off you can't compare Confederate Flags to the Swastika. They represented two idealogically different governments.

If the confederate flag was used in historical context, such as in a museum, it wouldn't be so bad. But look where it's used, on clothing and pick-up trucks. It's the way that hicks, rednecks, and hillbillies identify themselves.

But both are symbols of hate and oppression.

And that is just your opinion.

The Confederate Flag(s) represent a Confederated Democratic Republic that had slaves in an Era where it wasn't uncommon to have slaves in the western world.

The Swastika represents a genocidal regime that reintroduced slavery into a world that mostly gave up slavery 2-3 generations earlier.

Just how is that comparable?
