Hi everybody, I'm getting ready to move to La Center Kentucky in 3-5 weeks and I'm just wondering if anyone who lives there or has lived there knows cable and internet providers that are in the area. I did a google search but they didnt go too far.

~While I'm posting this I might as well ask if anyone knows the area (La Center) I'm 22 years old and moving to the area for 1 year from the West Suburbs of Chicago. I'm in school full time and I'll be attending Southern Illinois University- Carbondale's web based courses. I have a two year old son and I plan on getting an apartment that is with in a half mile -1 mile at the most away from "downtown" La Center because I dont have a car and we will be jogging EVERYWHERE lol. Do you have any advice on moving to that area any opinions of the area?

~Also I did a little search to see the racial background only because i'm a black suburban girl and I have never lived in the country and I'm not so sure how people in this particular town are (Yes I do know not everyone is the same) but do you think (those of you who have been/visited) that the people who live there will bave any issues with us being black/ biracial(my son) I know it could be silly to ask but I want to know what I'm getting into fully and get more than the one opinion that I've gotten this far. Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Default La Center

It will be a culture shock if you are moving from the subburbs of Chicago. Life is a lot slower than you will be used to. LaCenter is a small town in W. KY. Around 1000 people total live in the town. Located in Ballard Co. with just 1 HS (about 400 students or so). Just a couple of restaurants and gas stations and all are local (No McDonalds or anything of the like). Everything pretty much shuts down by 9 PM. The people are genuinely nice and caring. It is a predominately white population. Paducah is the closest town (about 20 miles) and has all the stuff you can't get there (walmart, mall, restaurants, shopping, etc.) We lived there for about 4 years and in W. KY for about 10 years total. Great area to raise a family.

Curious as to why LaCenter is the chosen town for relocation.
