Default Be careful if you have pets...

If you're considering moving to Louisville and are a pet owner be sure to check out Louisville's new 100 page Pet Ordinance before moving there. The last I knew, it was being challenged in court by the Louisville Kennel Club. I don't know the status of the lawsuit but I can tell you that the ordinance that was passed is so complicated (90+ pages) that you need an attorney to interpret it.

I was going to send a link to the actual ordinace in the Louisville government site but they don't seem to have it available... wonder why ??? They have a short and sweet summary which doesn't give the GIST of what it is to have almost 100 pages of laws relating to pet owners. THINK ABOUT THAT... 100 PAGES ????

Here is a link to what the NAIA has to say about the Louisville Ordinance....
http://www.naiatrust.org/actionalertlouisville.htm

The NAIA article was published prior to the passing of the ordinance. It did pass last year and it's being challenged in court by the Louisville Kennel Club.

Personally, I hope that they move the Kennel Club moves their Dog Show this year out of Louisville this year so that the City doesn't reap the financial benefits of the show!

We are living in a very scary world today. You can kill someone with a gun and you have more rights than pet owners...

There's more information available on the web about Louisville, if you're interested.
