Hi folks - planning on relocating to Western KY - rural areas with Bowling Green as center of our search - over next year or so. We currently have Verizon. Wondering how the coverage is there because the maps make it look bleak. Also right on the cusp of buying a Verizon tablet and not sure if that's the way to go if we'll be in rural western KY areas. Would appreciate your opinions.

I'm a VZW customer in Bowling Green. You'll be fine. There is a local provider (Bluegrass Cellular) that dominates that area. Luckily, they have an agreement with Verizon. Bluegrass provides the 4G hardware in that area and leases the spectrum space, if that's the right term, from VZW. All VZW phones will roam on the Bluegrass towers at no charge.

Here is a map of the Bluegrass coverage area: Coverage Map | Bluegrass Cellular . Tick the boxes for "Voice & Messaging" and "Data for Handsets & Mobile Broadband."

For what it's worth, I ditched Bluegrass for Verizon because even though the coverage is great, Bluegrass' selection of phones is sad and their plans are far too expensive for what you get. I haven't regretted that decision.

Thank you so much - that's just what I needed to hear - had visions of being caught in the middle of a 2-year contract with horrible service. And really want the GPS function of the tablet to work for us - planning on looking for acreage/house out in the boonies and would like to know where we are.

Thank you!

JK, I lived in Cadiz and knew several Army folks from Ft. Campbell who had Verizon. They had some of the same bad spots some of us AT&T folks did but that's just when you get down close to Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. Most of the time their signal strength was better than ours.

Good to hear (pun intended.) That's one of the areas we'll be considering. Can't wait to get down that way and start looking! Thank you!
