Well have you ever checked out the town called Frenchburg. We have a hospital about 20 minutes away and a medical center, and so much more to offer.
We have for sale 50 areas of land and it is beauitful in case you are considering building a home. Great neighbors and close to all the larger towns like Lexington just research it . I mean research Frenchburg and see if it is something that would interest you.
We live on Dogtrot Rd and it goes into a road called Cornwell Branch. Great place to live with peace and quite and most of all feeling safe. Big towns are getting scarey anymore with all the high crime rates. Well whatever you decide good luck.

Jan

Default Berea v. Morehead

I'm not a huge proponent of the state east of I-75, but I suppose these two places aren't bad to consider since the presence of a college and university, respectively, in these towns brings a slightly more educated populace.

Berea
------
Good: beautiful downtown area, great historic preservation, Olde Towne Kentucky (or something like that,) Berea College, the mountains are just south and east, closest and quickest access to Lexington, Wal-Mart

Bad: the town is generally dirty, it feels spread out for it to be such a small place, my only experience w/ customer service there has been real surly

Morehead
----------
Good: home of Morehead State University, the only town with over 5,000 people within a 45-minute radius (good for that part of the state,) Wal-Mart (a new Super Wal-Mart has already opened there, I believe,) nestled in a valley surrounded by tall foothills (might kind of look like but not feel like Harrisburg.)

Bad: I know KY 32 north of I-64 is a pretty crappy road. For that matter, so are many of the county roads around there.

Hmmm, you say Berea is "generally dirty." Don't know where you get that. I have been to Berea lots of times. It's a great town that's nice and clean. The layout of the downtown area is odd however, somewhat confusing; at least to me it is.
