Hello. My husbands' company is transferring him from our current location in Somerset to Danville. We are supposed to move within the next two weeks. It is our 5th move in as many years.

Where are the best places to look for houses for rent? How are the schools there?

We have never been there. Is it a nice town? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Danville is very nice and picturesque. It was the first capitol of Kentucky and therefore has a lot of very old, historic buildings. I don't think there is one really bad area there to worry about. Population is about 17,000; has a lot of national chain stores and restaurants

It is a great area, we have lived here for about 7 months. The town is clean and friendly and there is a lot of happenings.

The local newspaper is the Advocate Messenger. It might be a good place to start. Their website is: amnews.com - The Advocate-Messenger in Danville, KY

You might also try the Boyle County and Danville websites. There should be contacts on there for realtors. Many of who handle rentals or could recommend someone who does property management in the area. www.boylecounty.net Danville-Boyle County
