There was a very similar question in this forum. Here was my answer:
Upstate Kentucky (the areas around and between Louisville, Lexington, & the southern Cincinnati suburbs) know locally as the Golden Triangle has a very strong economy, as does the Bowling Green area in Western KY. The state's Appalachian region has a very poor economy, which tends to skew our numbers.
What type of area are you looking for sizewise, and in terms of topography?
Bee, check my reply to "Kentucky natives....tell the truth". The Mayfield area in western Kentucky has several new businesses getting ready to build in town. I copied an article out of the Sunday Paducah Sun. People seem to think western Kentucky ends at Bowling Green, but the forgotten part of Kentucky, all the way to the Mississippi River, is still there! lol
