We're thinking of moving to Kentucky, and are interested in homeschooling our kindergartener. Can anyone tell me what homeschooling in Kentucky is like? Is it common? Are there groups that meet socially? Will the Department of Education provide free curriculum and supplies, as they do in Arizona?

I'm not homeschooling in KY--yet. I am looking at relocating but if you check out that link it will show you the local support groups. Homeschooling is legal in all 50 states, and KY (as most of the south) is very friendly to it as I understand.

Yes, homeschooling is very common in KY, actually my husband has some relatives that are homeschooling their childerns.

You are correct that it is legal in all 50 states, but some states have HORRIBLE guidlines and qualifications to do it. PA, you basically have to be a certified teacher with a degree to teach. KY is a more relaxed state.
