You might look into London in the South Eastern part. A very nice and growing little town of about 10,000 with a County population of about 60,000. Close to the Daniel Boone National Forest and several Lakes with access to all directions. I-75 N/S and Daniel Boone Parkway (Hal Rogers Parkway) E/W. 850 rent is available but, 80,000 to buy might be a little harder to find.

Good luck!

Berea is a beautiful college town, south of Lex, and in the mountains. It's vibe is local arts and crafts with some great fairs occurring there. More mountainous and rural are Clay City and Staunton down the Mountain Pky, both are very close to the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park.
My advice- Start with a map, and do some research on some real estate sites! Enjoy the adventure!

Berea Ky is a charming quaint college town. It is beautiful and located right off interstate 75 which would give your husband easy travel north to Richmond and Lexington (shopping mecca) both which have a lot of retail or south to London which also has some retail. Berea is at the edge of Eastern Ky and the Bluegrass region. There are other towns in Eastern Ky though that might suit you better. Pikeville is well known and in the mountains. Pineville/Barbourville is a gorgeous area as well. Let us know what you settle on.
