Anyone on here from Bowling Green? I lived in BG for 6 years before making a move to Nashville and then tragically to Birmingham. I am SO excited to be moving "home" in the fall. I can't wait to get back to my friends and the places I know and love. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about it?

I live in Bowling Green. It is growing by leaps and bounds. You will be glad you are moving back.

Just wondering for future reference, what is wrong with Birmingham?

Default Don't get me started.....

On Birmingham! If you want to read all about it you can go to the Alabama thread and read the one titled 'Unhappy in North Alabama.' Basically, it's just not the right place for me. I have had a really hard time meeting people, I have come across a lot of racism and I have had difficulties securing decent employment. I did have a really hard time finding employment in BG, but I am coming back simply to finish up school and will probably wait tables or something to pay bills. Also, I found Birmingham to be pretty expensive. Honestly, I just miss my friends in Bowling Green I think. We were family-I guess I was in BG at the right time in my life and I have made life-long friends there who love me for who I am and are down to earth. I really loved Nashville too, so I don't think it's the size of Birmingham, and I actually live in the 'hip' part of town, but I don't know it just doesn't suit me. Also, A LOT of deep rooted religous stuff around here. People in Kentucky are pretty religous but I just didn't feel it there like I feel it here.
