The best comment I've ever heard about all the promises candidates make came from former news anchor John Chancellor quite a few years ago. He said a true candidate shouldn't say if I'm elected, I WILL... They should say if I'm elected I will work hard with our legislators to get this passed or do this. That's true for both parties and I know it will never happen.

In retrospective I think that Bevin actually accomplished very little of his agenda. Not much change to make the state more business friendly or fix the pension. Bevin quickly got bogged down with petty feuds and controversies. Given GOP control of all three branches of govt for his full 4 years that is astonishing.

"Hope Bevin moves out of Kentucky asap..."

After all, he's not from here!

Hope you're happy? Hey, at least he's a polite Southern gentleman! He'll steal from you with a smile (just like his daddy before him).

Talk to the carpetbagger who broke it in the first place... you have to work with what you're left to work with.

Quote:
“Under Gov. Beshear’s plan, $110 million more for the agencies is going to the Kentucky Employees Retirement System in each of the next two years compared to the last budget,” said Beshear spokeswoman Crystal Staley. “The governor’s plan will result in an 84.41 percent employer contribution rate, which is about $25 million shy of the 93.01 percent rate, but is much greater than the 49.47 percent being contributed now.”

"Carpetbagger." Here we go again! Realize that this is just as ignorant and offensive a slur to a northerner as a racial slur is to a minority. Realize how it makes people from the north feel. Also realize how it makes you look. Enjoy your "home boy."

Used in regard to Bevin, "carpetbagger" may be perceived as "offensive" - but it's hardly "ignorant".

Do you know the history of the term? Hint: it fits.

Do you know any members of the Beshear family personally? I do, and what you wrote above is way off the mark.
