She is in a place where money is not an issue at all and crime is much lower in Kentucky than metro DC. I know safe doesn’t necessarily mean fun or desirable. It is her decision, she’s earned it for sure.
The DC Metro area is ridiculously expensive, we just came from there. However, I will say the positive atmosphere, opportunities, and attitude towards minorities is unmatched to anywhere we have ever lived. We were in Woodbridge and loved it. I like Louisville well enough, and it’s fantastic to be back near family, but I can well understand why someone would want to live there, if they can financially swing it. I agree about the difference in crime, in Kentucky concerns about personal safety, especially for we well seasoned folks, is way lower.
