This is linked to the "Hometown Tourist" tourism campaign that missy brought up in one of my previous posts:

Home of the Kentucky Derby - Louisville Kentucky - Visitors Bureau

Lots of free admissions, 2-for-1 deals, etc for many popular Louisville attractions, although some require KY or IN id's. Lexington has a similar program in place right now, too, although unforunately it is limited to bluegrass area residents:

I always wanted to go to the museum, but it is just too far. Sad isn't it...I am closer to St. Louis and Nashville then I am Louisville and I live in KY!!! LOL

OK, apparently the Slugger Museum is only offering free admission to moms on Mother's Day. i was 99.9% positive that WDRB news & the CJ said it was free for everyone the remaining Sundays in May. I went there with my sisters today and for the first time in my life wished I was a woman (to save $$$ )

It was defiantly the best museum I have been to. There is a 20 minute guided tour through the factory that ends with everyone getting a free miniature bat and free billet stubs off of real bats. They also have a batting cage that offers 10 pitches for $1.

They said the miniature bats are made from the 1% of bats that show defections while being processed
