My sister-in-law heard there was a Dippin Dots factory somewhere in southern Ky. and they give factory tours. We have not been able to find anything out on this. If anyone knows of anything, can you please let me know. Thank you

I saw a little of that on Unwrapped on the Food Network the other day. There was also supposed to be something about it on the History Channel last week too. Just looked at the Paducah Sun archives and it was on History's "Modern Marvels" last Monday. They were invented in Paducah.

They were invented by a microbiologist who froze bacterial pellets in the same manner. I've toured the facility. It's amazing. They drop little ice cream droplets into a pit (probably 8ft by 10 ft) of liquid nitrogen. They freeze instantly and a scooper strains them off the liquid nitrogen.
