Do not hear much about these areas, do anyone know what it is like at any of these places. Are they not that nice?

I am looking for a lively downtown atmosphere, not so much bars, and nightclubs as arts, and crafts and privately owned coffeeshops, and bookstores.

Also looking for a good community to just grow old in that is affordable!

Covington is great for what you have described - mainly because it is 'attached' so to speak, to Cinncinnatti, Ohio. That entire area is full of amazing things to do. Newport - tied to Covington (you will often hear it referred to as Covington/Newport) has a huge indoor Aquarium - which I am sorry to say I have yet to visit but have heard it is wonderful.

Mayfield - I only know it is fairly close in proximity to those areas, and from what I have heard is a quiet, friendly country town. I has a pastor here in town once whose family was from there and he only had good things to say about it.

I THINK (the rest of ya'll help me out here) Mayfiled was the hometown of RoseMary Clooney, George Clooney's aunt.
I know she was from here - and I am almost positive it was Mayfield.

Come on to visit - you won't be disappointed with the attractions you are looking for!

Default Not Mayfield

Mayfield is in southwestern Ky. 25 miles south of Paducah. the town you are thinking of is Maysville. My Dad was in an orphanage there as a 8 year old, when adopted.
