Might as well get some job..get at least an office job as a fast food, warehouse, etc.. job won't do any good on your resume. With an office job at least it shows you have worked in an office setting. At least you are working on your masters so you could at least fill the void on your long layoff.

I hear you on the job hunt though. I got a Finance degree 6 months ago and I am still looking for a job. Right now I am working 25-30 hours a week at jackson hewitt as a tax prep./compliance officer. The pay sucks but at least it's something decent to put in the resume while I am still looking for a job, plus I like taxes . I'm thinking of just getting the extra 2 classes to get a major in accounting too ...

Look for a government job. Look at the one's that you know will be around in 50 years. I have one (not military) and am slated to retire when I am 57 with full benefits with having no college degree. It's funny how a college degree is a complete waste of time and money for some and others thrive with one.

How about learning a trade, working with your hands? That's right, most Americans "don't do" that kind of work anymore. Hence the reason why we are overrun with illegals.

Been retired for a year and thought maybe I'd see about being a greeter at Walmart. Takes a while to fill out their application. 65 questions! Good thing is you can work on it a while then log out and come back and work on it some more.
