My family has looked at Lexington County schools and so far we liked what we found. Living in Erie, PA, we couldn't see the houses and schools, so our friends who live down there looked at our choices for us. They live in Nicholasville and we are now starting to consider the area.

Nomenclature... Lexington is "Fayette County" Nicholasville is Jessamine County. My daughter and SNL live in Nicholasville. He is a cradle Jessamine Countian. Its a solid place to live, but there are growth issues. Just be certain to take your time getting to know the area before you buy.

I personally don't know much about the area's schools, but I pull dogs and cats from the SAVE center there and work very closely with one of the shelter managers. She's lived there forever and her kids go to school there and she loves it. Said she wouldn't live anywhere else.

I'd highly recommend Wilmore over Nicholasville - not that N'ville is that bad, but Wilmore is a really nice, quiet small town. You'd also be commuting through less traffic (on US 68) than on US 27 (which is basically like an interstate with a red light every half mile
