My husband has accepted a new job and we are moving to Bowling Green in a few weeks (from Iowa). I am hoping I can get some advice as to which Warren County Elementary School we should try and use??? Here's the kicker...we need to find a house rental in the district, which is a little tougher than we had hoped. Our plan is to rent for 6-9 months and then hopefully buy a house in the same district. We know it is a long shot, but we are really hoping that we don't have to change schools again next fall. ANY and ALL advice will be greatly appreciated!! Our time schedule is a little short, so thank you in advance for your quick responses

Briarwood, Richpond, and Natcher are probably the best county elementary schools. If you choose to live in the city school district, Potter Gray and McNeil are the best, no contest. Just my opinion, Potter Gray is by far the best elementary school in the area...maybe one of the best in the state.

Thanks dixiegirl17. I was told that some people live in the county district, but open-enroll their children into the city schools, are you familiar with this? In your opinion, what makes Potter Gray the best school in the area? I am interested in any advice you have to offer. THANKS!!

We lived in the county district and sent our son to Potter Gray. We lived only 5 minutes from Potter Gray and he had gone to Montessori preschool and kindegarten and his teacher recommended we send him to either Potter Gray or St Joseph (private Catholic school). We chose Potter Gray and never regretted it. There might be a waiting list if you don't live in the district now, this was a few years ago and there is a small tuition fee...not much though. We still have friends with children at Potter Gray and it is still a wonderful school. There is unbelievable parental involvement and they welcome it. I have heard that a few of the county schools are not as welcoming of parental involvement which makes no sense to me.

Potter Gray consistently has some of the highest scores on testing and academics in the state and national percentiles. Just overall you will find it to be the closest thing to a private school and still be public.

Great to know....thanks! I also have a 4 year old that we need preschool for, would you be able to suggest some various preschools in BG that you would suggest? He will not go to Kindergarten for 2 more years, so it does not need to be everyday of the week (preferably 3x's week). Thanks again for all the great advice!!

First Baptist has an excellent preschool. Also, the Plum Springs Montessori my son went to is a half day program that I would highly recommend. BTW, welcome to Bowling Green.
