Hello Everyone. I am thinking about moving to the Florence, Covington , Newport area within a year from Michigan. I was wondering if anyone had any comments on these three cities. I am a 23 year old male starting fresh in a new place.

Its a pretty nice area, starting to attract an increasing amount of people who want an urban lifestyle yet do not want to be in downtown Cincy. Personally, if you are going to do Cincy region, I would look at Mt Adams or Hyde Park, where most the young professionals live. Actually, much of Greater Cincinnati's nightlife is set on Newport on the Levee (outside Mt Adams), and it is currently a more vibrant entertainment area than downtown Cincinnati. Covington is a cool old town that is pretty laid back and actually has some good restuarants and an old German area. Florence is your basic suburb, with big box stores, sprawl, and a big mall. Pretty much looks like any other Midwestern suburb, and it is family oriented area. I would recommend looking right on the river in downtown Newport. You should post in the Cincinnati forums too, since that area is basically "Cincinnati across the river", unless you are considering other cities in KY like Louisville or Lexington.

To STX12499 and KY residents:

I was wondering if you could help me here. I am looking to relocate somewhere in the KY area & Covington had that good feel to it. I am only going by photos and what I have heard about the place but I need to know more. One thing; I do love victorian & older homes. Also I need a safe, affordable & peaceful area!!

I am into the natural healing arts, meditation, organic foods, yoga and all things natural. Oh yeah and very environmentally friendly!

I would like to know if are there things for me that are more geared into the metaphysical side of things?

Could you tell me if there are some good organic food-markets, yoga centers, new age bookstores or centers, parks, or anything else that I think compatible to my lifestyle??

In addition to Covington I had also considered Lexington or Louisville! Or even the smaller cities of Danville, Richmond or Bradstown. Stx12499 can you or anyone tell me what these cities or towns would be for a "peaceful" new ager like me!! Or is there another area more suitable to my lifestyle? I love the smaller towns & as I said before those beautiful victorian homes.. so sweet..!!

I love the smaller towns but I am really curious about Covington right now. I just want to start looking for a place to call home!... Really I would like to know about all the areas mentioned!

I am not into religion but respect those that are... as long as they try NOT to change my belief system... Meaning there is no harrasment if I am more universal in my beliefs !

With that said:: how are these cities in terms of accepting someone like me...! Would I stick out like a sore thumb or would I blend in just fine??

Thanks to all and blessings!
