I live in Mich, I wanna move to Kentucky,
I'm 18, I do construction, but I really want to become a cop... .. .
I Grad from high school this year, 2010. like in 18 weeks... might not move right after, need to save up some money....

Found this Sticky: NEWCOMERS please read before posting , though i was lill nice and copy and past. lill helpful hut i can only really answer two of them.

-How much you are willing to spend on housing: I think no more the $55k, would like 5 acres of land, i don't really need more,

-What type of neighborhood environment you are looking for: small town feeling? small city excitement? suburbia delight?: would like small town, or by the edge of a city, but where ever i can get work, construction or cop. i know i have a few years till I'm 21.

I would really like to be by budsgunshop thats in Lexington, KY 40505, looks like its in a city.

Every1 at school says go as far south i go? why is that? Drugs? sorry I don't do drugs.

here is my post on work.

I'm sorry but $55,000 and you want 5 acres of land?? What? There's no way on earth you'll find anything for that around Lexington. I think you need to learn more about housing costs before you think of moving....

Ok still though, no way on $55,000 in Lexington or surrounding communities. Some run down old house near downtown might cost you that amount. Being sold "as is."

InLondon, you could give him advice instead of criticizing him.

If you are moving down here, I would start out renting an apartment or a room like you said. Save up some money, get a feel for the area, and then decide if and where you would like to buy a house.

Craigslist would be a good place to look for rooms or apartments for rent. If I were you, just because Louisville is bigger, I would assume there would be more construction work there. If you decide to live in Louisville, don't live in the West End, and areas south of downtown south of Eastern Pkwy, and north of I-264. If you choose to live in Lexington, I would look in the southern 1/2 of the city.

Louisville's population is a lot bigger than Lexington's, so of course it is going to have more entertainment, shopping, restaurants, and work and housing options. With either city, the counties surrounding them have large tracts of land for a fairly cheap price. In Louisville that would be Shelby, Bullitt, (to a lesser extant) Oldham, Spencer, Nelson, and Henry counties. Around Lexington, look in Jessamine, Clark, Madison, Scott, and Franklin County (which is 1/2 way between Lou and Lex).

I'm kind of confused, south of what state? And yes there is a drug problem in some parts of Kentucky, most notably in the eastern mountain areas.
