Can't tell you alot about the schools (mine were in private when I lived there ) , crime is not bad at all in E-town , a good little rural town that would be about a 10-15 minute drive (depending how far out you go ) from Home Depot would be Rineyville . E-town is a great place to live , I hope you enjoy it !

I have to say I'm surprised you haven't got more replies . The people that I've seen on this forum are friendly and helpful . If you need to know more I'll try to help.....I just moved from E-town area in Dec. but I lived there for several years and loved it. It's really a nice place to raise kids , good churches, friendly people. Will you be renting or looking to buy ? I can hook you up with a really good realtor if you want , he also has rentals . Oh and btw...my oldest son worked at Home Depot there for awhile and seemed to like it . If you need to know something about that I could ask him. Just let me know .

Hey I live in Elizabethtown and work at a dentist office here - it's a great town - the city schools are the most desired - that's where my kids go - property is getting scooped up really fast though because Ft Knox is close and the Brigade division is moving in - Home Depot is right in the center of town beside Sams and our 1 and only mall. It is a big county and you will have no trouble finding property out in the county but you will have trouble if you want city schools - Home Depot is right in the middle of the City and County District - I have a cute 3 bedroom/1bath house with garage and deck for rent soon that is walking distance for your kids from the Etown city school - my email is rdh32rachel@hotmail.com
