Oh really? Idaho is 92% white or Maine at 95% white, yet they don't seem to get that national branding of being "backwoods and racist" that Kentucky (89%) gets.
I am SICK of Kentucky always getting the bad rap, while other states compare to or worse than Kentucky on the white percentage.

Yeah, and those states also have only like a million people total living in each of them. Ky has something like 4.5 million.

that doesnt have anything to do with total white percentage, it has to do with a history of slavery, followed by segregation and jim crow laws. mississippi has the largest black population of any state, yet it is almost always seen as the most racist due to all the media coverage it got in the sixties when civile rights activists were killed there.
but once again, this thread is not about that. perhaps you should start a thread called "why does kentucky get such a bad rap about racial issues?" and the discuss it there.

Nothing, they suck too. Although those states are both damn near in Canada. For KY to be a "southern" state, it sure has a lot of white people. Thats all Im saying about it.

you act like modern day kentuckians control how white kentucky is. kentucky is not some big suburb outside of an urban area that people flock to to get away from minorities. kentucky used to have a big black population, but many of them left to head north for jobs and flee persecution during the great migration. thats how it is. quit blaming that on the poeple who live in the state today and try to make them feel ashamed that it doesnt have the diversity that some states do. what is your beef here really? to help this gentleman find black communties to live in, or to put down kentuckians for their state's lack of diversity (which they have no control over)? you really need to quit.

How about we compare KY to a state that has 30 million people.
California - 6.7% AA
Kentucky - 7.2% AA
If you were to rank the states by percentage of black people, KY would be at 25.
