I was dead set on the Maryville area, but I may have an opportunity to head up into Kingsport for employment. I have been there, about 5yrs ago, and liked it. I am still concerned about the humidity in E Tenn though. Now is it any cooler in the tricities area? I know it is farther north and east so I am wondering how much of a difference it will be.

Also can anyone compare the two as in kingsport vs maryville for me?

Thanks, gotta run

Hmm... that is a tough one. I would say they are about the same.
I work in Kingsport and really like the city. They are doing a bunch of revitalizing downtown, several nice new businesses/restaurants there.

I've lived in both cities and I think that the humidity is about the same. There is a probably a website out there somewhere that lists trends, humidty values. Each place has its' positive points.

The humidity's about the same in both places. Kingsport tends to be slightly cooler, though, with summer highs averaging 1-2 degrees lower (and summer night temps about 3 degrees lower) than Maryville.

I have always considered Kingsport to have a better humidity than that of Southeast TN. My brother lives in Chattanooga & I live in Atlanta and our humidity is soooo much higher that its a big relief when I go up to the TC area. I am not sure how it compares to Maryville, but I would say its pretty much the same.

Kingsport and Northeast TN will be a little better in humidity. The elevation is a little higher so that helps. Granted, it won't be a difference like south florida and the yukon, but I don't think it is enough to influence your decison. I prefer Northeast TN; if everything is right for you I say go for it, but obviously you have to weigh your decisions.
