I've been checking out this forum for a few years and the wife and I are looking at a possible trip to the area in Nov. We've both retired and are thinking of relocating there from a small town in California. We plan on driving to the Chicago area for a wedding late Oct. and then heading down your way around the first or second week of Nov. I guess we would like to know what kind of weather to expect and possibly a decent inexpensive motel to stay in while we look around the Tri-cities area. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sulshog

Based on historic averages, look for highs around 60 and lows around 30. (AccuWeather.com - Johnson City Month Weather | Monthly Forecast for Johnson City, TN (http://www.accuweather.com/us/tn/johnson-city/37601/forecast-month.asp?mnyr=11-01-2010 - broken link))

AmericInn in Jonesborough has been used by posters on this board frequenting the area. Also, there's a new Holiday Inn Express in the Boones Creek area of Johnson City that looks pretty nice.

Wasn't an advertisement. Apparently trying to help people out is against the rules.
