Real Estate
5. Johnson City, Tenn.
Cost of Living Index: 86.6
Metro Population: 193,457
Median Household Income: $36,853
Average Home Price: $217,986

It’s hard to beat the low cost of living in the South. Seven of the ten least expensive cities on our list are in Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Affordable homes and below-average utility, transportation and health-care costs keep the cost of living low in this city on the western edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's about a two-hour drive from Charlotte, N.C., or Knoxville, Tenn. To top it off, Tennessee has no state income tax.

As far as I know, I took it. It looks identical to the one on the Wikipedia page (using the cars as identifiers). It's been a while, but as I recollect I took that one because there was no picture for JC up. I also took a couple of the other pictures on the Wiki page... the shot of the bank buildings in midtown, the downtown transit center, and the condo development in North JC.

Wow, that is really cool. You should be so proud that they used your picture for this.
Have a great week end and safe holiday.

I hope they paid you for using it. I'd get in touch with magazine, if it's your photo, they owe you some $$$

Last edited by DrJerome; 09-09-2010 at 11:17 AM.. Reason: Checking with Wiki it seems once you gave them the photo to use you gave it to anyone and everyone to use for free.

Not really. I released it under a creative commons license. To be fair I should be credited, but it's all good by me. I realize that once you put something on the Internet (yourself), you better be prepared to see it anywhere

True, but when a corporation uses your work for them to make money, that is a whole other story.
