I've lived in central Florida all my life, and I don't care what anybody says, you never get used to the heat and humidity of summers here. I'd love to move to east TN or west NC to a higher elevation, and be able to spend more than a couple of weeks in April and October outside.
I live in a small city (20K people) and wouldn't want to live anywhere larger than that. I like knowing people at the grocery store and not getting stuck in traffic.
My husband and I would both need to find work: public relations, television production, plumbing sales type. What is the job market like?
After reading these boards, I am somewhat concerned about the air pollution in the tri-city area. How is that?
Are there any cities that fit what I'm looking for?
Thanks for any help.

Hi there -

I agree, after visiting Fla last week, that the humidity is stifling! There are lots of small communities near Knoxville that are 20K or less and there is a great tv industry in Knoxville with HGTV. Also, Murfreesboro is a bit far, but I know that they have a great tv production degree program there at MTSU; so others on the main TN board may be able to help. Also, the Knoxville board may have some great info as well. There is already a great air pollution thread on here so be sure to check that out.

Best of luck in your search!
