Hello, We are considering a relocation to the Tri-Cities Area (Bristol, Johnson City or Kingsport). We would be interested in information on an upscale apartment community to rent. We do like to have the conveniences of restaurants, movie theatre, shopping mall, barnes and noble book store, etc.

Would you have a recommendation on a upscale apartment community in the Tri-Cities area or as to which of these three cities would be best suited? We are planning to visit this area within the next few weeks and would like to have some apartment communities in a nice location to view.

Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to provide.

Barnes and Noble is in Johnson City.
So is the local university (ETSU).
And the best assortment of restaurants.

Upscale apartments ... someone else will have to answer that. My bet would be on Johnson City for that, too, but I'm not knowledgeable about what to recommend.

I know they just built those penthouse type in down town JC but I can't recall which building it was in. But as far as "upscale apartment living" such as one would find in places like NY NY, you just won't find that here I believe.

In Kingsport, Cross Creek and Brandy Mill Apts. might be your best choices. A Books-A-Million is under construction nearby.

In JC I would look at Silver Creek Apts., Mountainview Villas (perhaps not "upscale" but very nice and well-managed), and a couple of complexes on Swadley Road named Creekside Village @ Swadley and Swadley Park.

Thank you for your responses. Perhaps "upscale" was not the correct term to use to describe the apartment we are looking for. More specifically, we would like to rent a modern apartment in a complex in a nice and safe area that may have a community pool or fitness room or walking trails in the Tri-Cities area. If you have any other recommendations, please post. I really appreciate the help and the valued information provided.

Yes, I would also suggest that site. Sterling Hills is one that is in South JC that might fit your needs.

Tipton Haynes, and other lofts are being built in downtown J.C. Off of main St you may find some new penthouse/co-ops for sale. PM me if you need info!
