I personally think there is much room for full service auto repair shops here in the Tri-Cities. There seems to be very few "independent" shops... it seems to be dealers and then those so-called repair shops, which are really nothing more than tire shops and they seem to charge as much as the dealers. I know at least here in Bristol, there are just a couple of independent repair shops.... anyone know of more.... or at least any that do work at a reasonable amount?

Good luck Kristy.

I know of a few in the Gray area one is right behind the Napa auto parts place and he has a really good reputation, not sure about the rates though.

Default Jobs

I've been here a few months, have sent out dozens of resumes and have had 2 job offers & another interview lined up this week. Turned down one job, as it required relocating and I love it here already! The other one is a realistic possibility, but I'm waiting to see how this next interview goes. There are always temp openings, too.

Uhm, not exactly. I manage 300 people and there is a difference in work ethic here and say, New York. Some large companies have staffing problems and attrition because people who work here are under the misconception that banks will allow them to take grandma to the dentist, missing 3 hours from work, not getting Net Trans, as they can't afford a car so can work please accomodate them? Then they are surprised when they get fired.

You would not believe the excuses. Companies from Delaware like the cheap labor, but then we can't manage it...I am in outsourcing and believe me, its bad.

Sorry if it sounds harsh, but this is business.
