Oh, thanks! This could come in handy... I've been wanting to do some Buffalo Mountain exploring... but gotta wait till this weather blows over and my back gets better (aka I can actually stand up!)

This is great! Thanks for being so kind, Kamoshika. I've tucked it into my "Fun things to do" file for future reference. How is the mountain looking these days after the fire last summer?

Jabogitlu, hope your back heals fast. I just went through that. Uggghhh. Went to a chiropractor, first time, it was that bad. Now, thanks to the chiro and getting back to a good weights and exercise routine, I'm all better. For me, I really had to strengthen my flabby core muscles. It ain't fun...

Unfortunately I can't afford a chiro at the moment. And of course the old insurance doesn't cover it. So I'm here on the couch. I have to be really careful. Last year I did a good job on it and now any little thing I do wrenches it back out.

I haven't hiked up there since last spring, a month or so before the fire. It burned about 400 of the 723 acres in the park, mostly undergrowth on the western end though I'm sure many trees succumbed. Should be interesting to see what new plant life emerges this spring.

Here's a pic of Huckleberry Knob inside the park last fall, and you see how quickly the forest was bouncing back even then:

Hope you recover quickly, jabogitlu! On a gorgeous day like today (Sat.), I know it's hard to rest like you should.

Glad to hear the land is recovering well, kam. And jab...I feel for you. Back pain is no fun. You're too young for that! Take care of yourself and when you get on some good insurance some day, maybe then it will be chiro time. Enjoy this gorgeous day everyone!

Today was rather gorgeous, wasn't it!? After I got off work I just had to spend some time outside. Mmm, can't wait for the warmup after cold Mon & Tue.

Thanks for the map Kamoshika. I will have to check that out when I come back down in May.

As bad a fire can be it actually helps forest's with lots of old growth. I won't keep blabbing but I'm sure and Arborist knows what I'm talking about.
