Can anyone give me their opinion about this area? I was looking at land for a modular home & a realtor sent me a listing for Sulphur Springs. I've never really heard anything about the area. Thanks

Sulphur Springs is a tight little community which lies about 6 miles straight down Hwy. 75. It is a beautiful area with rolling farm land, new subdivisions and still room to expand. There are several churches in the area. The Methodist Church and the Baptist Church (both named Sulphur Springs) are across from each other and fairly large for a rural area. The Volunteer Fire Dept. is great and is on the main drag (Hwy 75). Probably the best thing going for this area is the school. SS school is one of the best in Washington County. There are a few "mom and Pop" stores - a terrific auto repair shop - Maples Garage and there used to a pizza parlor but I think it is now closed. As I said it is a tight knit community but very open to newcomers. There are a few "old" families still farming in the area. A new Family Dollar Store just opened at the crossroads of Hwy 81 S. and Hwy 75. There is also a convienence store and storage rentals at the crossroads. This is an area I would highly recommend you check into. It is far enough out to be considered rural yet close enough to Gray or Jonesborough that makes it very desirable.
