We will be moving to the Kingsport area in a few months~living on the Virginia side, working on the TN side~and I would just like as much info about the area as possible. Things to do, sights to see, relocation information, etc. We are not "nightlife" people, we like outdoor adventures and relaxing with family. Gate City is a very steep town, has a great high school football team, and there are some essentials there like Food City. If you're working in TN, consider living in TN to avoid paying state income tax to VA.

2nd the live on the TN side for lower income tax, but you will likely to spend more in VA if you lived there (convenience) and therefore would save more on sales tax which may offset the income tax.
