Tri-Cities private sector workers saw their inflation-adjusted buying power decline in October. The average for both MSAs came in below last year’s total, but Kingsport-Bristol workers have not taken as much of a hit as the one recorded in Johnson City. October’s Johnson City average was the 18th straight month it has not kept pace when compared to the same month of the previous year. Kingsport-Bristol, Johnson City avg. private sector wages down in Oct.
