Ok, I know I said I would have theses pics posted by weeks end...last week..so sorry, but hey!..I did take them before weeks end hahhahahah
Most of these are of Down town Kingpsort and the bottom few are of 11W, the heavy commercial/shopping area of Kingsport. I hope these will give those of you who have been looking at Kingsport as a possible relocation spot, a better idea of the area. If you have any spacific questions, please feel free to ask away!

Smile Kingsport

Aaaawww....Kingsport..... Your pictures brought back wonderful memories! I love Kingsport! The downtown is so charming with the funky diagonal parking in the middle of the street, the nice landscaping, the many antique malls, Church Circle, and Bays Mountain as a backdrop. There's also a river that runs through Kingsport (the Holston River) with a great paved trail along it (the Greenbelt).
Thank you for the pictures.

Well done, MB. I looks like you took those pictures on that really windy day last week. Nice colors in the trees!

Thumbs up Great Roads

MB: Great Chamber of Commerce post . What city is next week ?? Most of all East Tenn towns are postcard quality. Beautiful paved roads. Just went thru N.E. and PA & CT have terrible road system / potholes. Corvette on Main Street ? "Now Thats What I'm Talking About ". This region is not a TOY ..!

Actually Spilt, I think that was the last city hahahahhaha At least I haven't had any other requests, but we shall see.
I agree! After living in CT and FL...I LOVE THE ROADS IN TN!!! hahahahhaha
Traffic is nothing too...well except in Pigeon Forge and Knoxville. I don't have a vet, but my little PT cruiser just cruises right along!

Nice pics! Looking at all of your photos and what I have observed on my own, it appears to me that there are decent zoning laws in ET. Would that be right? I freaked in Asheville, NC over the business/residential mix of stores and houses in that city.

MB: Thanks for posting pictures of Kingsport...you selected a great day and season to make these pictures. This is my first post and I'm not sure of policy on posting links, but anyone interested in learning more about relocating to Kingsport can find additional information by using key words MOVE TO KINGSPORT to find a relatively new web site designed for those interested in relocating to our area.

LauraC, Zoning laws....hmmmm. Well I guess it depends on your perspective and the exact town/city in Tri-Cities. I am not "up" on all zoning laws, but from what I have observed and heard, they are pretty lax in some areas. The main one I don't understand is that you can have a 400k executive home with a 30 year old single wide with 3 acres of hogs and chickens right next to each other, and one has no impact on the other as far as an appraisal goes.
You can also have residential and commercial right next to each other in many areas. I think business owners just take more pride in the appearance of there business so the home owner doesn't mind it as much? I don't know. But again, only some areas are like that, as far as Down Town Kingsport, they do have some strict zoning laws as does Dow town Johnson City I believe. I think you can check them out at the city and county web pages.

Wow those are awesome pics and the fall colors look so pretty. I love the brick sidewalks with all the trees... reminds me alot of my hometown back in PA. Thanx for posting all these wonderful sights! It really helps to get an idea of the area. If you ever get to Knoxville on one of your trips, I would love to see what it is like there. I know it's gotta be a way better place than SF... lol (May be my future home if insurance rates double again! ) Are there any quaint tree-lined towns like that closer to Knoxville?

MB:

My parents are originally from Rogersville and are looking to relocate back there after 35 years in Florida. My question - what are the names of the gated communities located in between (maybe closer to Kingsport) Rogersville and Kingsport? Someone told my Dad about them and I am trying to get more info for him. He's interested in a community with pool and tennis courts. I would love to have a link if possible!

Thanks!
