Is it any wonder with these types of stories hitting the AP wires that we get a reputation for being hillbillies?

Thanks for posting this news story. I didn't know the whole story.

But I do know those people. They are professional, educated people who apparently had a Vietnamese pot belly pet pig.

Tim White is a local musician who has done a lot of good things. I know that house fire on Christmas day '07 was devastating for the whole family, and they were very stressed, to put it mildly.

A lawsuit may be in order, but 4.7 million dollars sounds a little crazy.

I definitely agree. I sure didn't mean to sound like I was all for the lawsuit. Sometimes, a public apology is the best way to go.

And I am not faulting the people at all; I wasn't there and don't know the circumstances. I just didn't like how this hits AP when there are so many other, extremely worthwhile stories that AP could pick up. East Tennessee is a treasure to the US and there are times that I feel that the media kicks us. Sorry for the rant.

no prob. I made a mistake - the fire was Christmas Day, '06. You all probably already figured that out. Oh well, I can spell, but I get dates wrong .....
