Has anyone tried Sabores (formerly dining room) after the relocation to JC? I keep getting these awesome dishes on my Facebook, but don't know anyone who has been there.

They still are yet to open. Last I saw they're shooting for Spring.

Does anybody know why Portico closed? Or if Stir Fry Group is putting another restaurant in its place?

Ok I just got my question answered - in the old portico building will be Southern Craft BBQ and a brewery. (Instead of Tipton St)

A brewery you say? I didn't know about that. Any details you might know or care to share?

I'm kind of surprised about Portico closing as they always seemed to have a good crowd and were a little more "upscale" than some of the other downtown restaurants. Maybe with Stir Fry Group already having Label downtown there was too much overhead in operating a second restaurant.

BASQ in Bristol closed over the weekend. I had always wanted to eat there, but now I won't have a chance to.

Studio Brew right off the downtown has expanded their menu to include entrees instead of just flatbreads and tapas.

I stopped at Kingsport's Barberitos for lunch. Good reviews, but very disappointed.

The bowl was small, chicken was cold - I didn't request beans but got them anyway. Salsa was completely flavorless. I'll just go to Moe's.

Anyone like this place?

I just went to Moe's and was not impressed at all. I've liked both Barberitos that I've been to.

I heard last night that the BBQ place that is going into that space is part of the stir fry group. Fingers crossed that it is a good place as there doesn't seem to be any good BBQ (especially ribs) in the area.
