Is there a health insurance through the state for employed that cant get it through work? We have in PA it is called adult basic and is 30.00 a month

Darn, I wish somebody would answer your question.... I would like to know too. I have done some reading online and have to say that I have NOT seen anything like what you are inquiring about. We have that insurance available here in Vermont as well.

hmmm.. I don't know of a state plan like that. However we do have "Cover TN" which is a replacement insurance for Tenncare which was totally abused and going bankrupt. I assume Cover TN is based on income levels as well, which means you have to make less than or at the poverty level income to be eligible, but that is only a guess. Have you checked out Tennessee.gov ?

Thanks for that link. It does go into more detail about the types of insurance offered through the state. It seems to be partnered with small businesses. If they cannot offer paid insurance for employees, then the employee is eligible to buy the Cover Tn. insurance. It doesn't give premium amounts, but it says it's affordable.
