Media General grows again. I kind of hate it for the little guy.

What direction would you like to see WKPT go? I'd like to see all local content (sports, news, politics, business, education, entertainment, outdoors, etc), but I'm no expert in the industry.

As it stands, WJHL's multiplexed digital signal is structured as follows:
11.1 - CBS / main programming (HD)
11.2 - Me-TV (SD)
11.3 - Ion Television (SD - when did this occur?)

ABC programming stands to take over the 11.2 slot. My understanding of this topic is limited, but if WJHL intends to carry ABC programming in HD, fitting a third channel, even in SD, will be a tight squeeze. MeTV will be bumped, but I'm sure another affiliate will pick it up. Regarding WKPT, speculation is WAPK's programming and MyTV affiliation may move to the slot ABC vacates on 19.1 From there, who knows.

To further complicate matters, Media General was just acquired by Nexstar: Media General completes acquisition negotiations with Nexstar for $2.3B deal To be frank, the deal is a complete mess and faces regulatory scrutiny.
