Has anyone ever eaten at that little restaurant on Netherland Inn Road......it's right across from the redlight and bridge. I think it used to be a gas station. I see a lot of people there during the summer but not so many in the winter months.

Just wondering if it's worth a visit ? Good food ?

(I am not talking about Riverfront seafood restaurant)

That's the Boat Yard Diner. I've never eaten there but have heard very good things about the food, and I know the owners are really good folks.

They have a website that includes their menu. I don't think I'm allowed to post a direct link but if you Google "Boat Yard Diner," it'll be the 3rd link that comes up.

Also, on Friday nights (or maybe Saturdays, you could call and find out) they have bluegrass music in the winter months!

I have eaten there, not far from my office. It is ok, nothing special food wise. But the ice cream is really good and it is a great place to grab a picnic lunch for the green belt by the river. They are ALWAYS busy so I guess a lot of folks really like it. It is an institution in Kingsport.

That place opened back in 2004 I believe. We used to bicycle down there from our house for ice cream and/or a drink. When we lived there it wasn't open in the winter months. It was touch and go in the beginning but I am so glad that it has made it.
