Yeah I have to agree. The way you are going about this is very mature for a 19 year old, good for you.

I can't help with utilities but that rent sounds like a great deal. I also noticed $100/month for dog food seems excessive. I have a 100 pound shepherd and a 50 pound rescue and probably spend about half that, and I use pretty good food.

If I could make a suggestion you can make your own dog food supplement. I use either brown rice or oatmeal as a base, then I add in whatever protein I have (left over roast, canned mackerel from The Dollar Store, chicken livers), and 2 cans of french style green beans to lower the calories. This does not have much calcium and it is not to be used as their exclusive diet. Instead I add about 1/4 cup to the high grade dry kibble for each dog 2-3 times a week and it really helps stretch the dog food budget. I make a batch, freeze what I won't need in the next week in 4 serving sizes, and use when needed. And of course whenever we have table scraps that are suitable I add them to the mix.
