Without a doubt Verizon is number one but the cost is also number one. Has anyone found a close second provider in the Tri-Cities area with lower costs? I am looking at a full service plan with voice, text, and data.

You could try something like Straight Talk. That would save a few bucks. My girlfriend used it and it was fine.

Unlimited data or limited amount.

I have a 2 Gb data plan through T-Moblie. Completely satisfied with the price and service. There is some coverage loss in extremely rural areas such as SWVA. After the 2 Gb LTE it slows you down, but with some patience, you can still access a google map but forget about streaming or downloading an app. It is nice that you don't have to worry about being completely cut off from data or incurring ridiculous overcharges.

I've found Sprint to be quite good and close to Verizon coverage in the area, I've had a few friends switch from Verizon to Sprint around here as well and they've all been happy. I've tried T-Mobile and well the second you go in about any building in this area with them it seems to cut out, I rarely have issues with Sprint though indoors or outside. AT&T seems fine in this area as well but it's going to be around the same price as Verizon.

I use Comcast. Good service and the price is nice but you would need to be a subscriber to their internet service to sign up.

I no longer live in the area but visit at least once per year.

I have T-Mobile with unlimited everything. The service is mostly fine in the cities, but pretty spotty in any of the rural areas. It will cut out/drop calls in those areas.

Thanks for all the posts. All things considered Verizon is the most expensive but for the Tri-Cities it is hard to beat their service. I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and pay the price.
