I went to an excellent concert this evening (5/29) in downtown Kingsport, part of the 2008 Summer Concert Series (http://www.gotricities.net/broadstreetproductions/ - broken link). Cowboy Mouth pulled in a crowd of 2,000 or so and gave a raucous performance. I wandered around a bit and snapped a few pics, mostly along Broad Street.

The former Clinchfield Railroad Station on Main Street dates back to 1905. My dad helped repair the tower's clock about 20 years ago:

Shops along W. Main Street:

Jan Mar Restaurant opened its doors in 1953, and Dobyns-Taylor Hardware was a Kingsport mainstay for many years:

Great pix, Kamoshika, thanks once again. I am continually amazed at downtown Kingsport! We're going to hit one (or more) of the concerts this summer as well.

I noticed, in the fourth & fifth Broad St pics, a golf cart. Is that a popular and legal mode of transportation?

Great photos--thank you for sharing them with us. Downtown has really cleaned itself up! Some shots are "movie-set" like.
I always loved driving to downtown while growing up in and around Kingsport. Such a nice downtown area. Any plans on the board for cement hill? That was always an eyesore in an otherwise very-picturesque downtown setting.
