Thankee. Speaking of ethnic, I made Italian tonight. Recipes from my best friend's Sicilian mother. Yum!

Oooh...Sicilian! Can I come? We had some good Italian food at Carabba's in JC. I realize it's a chain, but it was really good! Olive oil to dip the warm, CHEWY Italian bread in, and pasta with shrimp. Which Italian restaurant do you recommend, Jabogitlu and anyone else who wants to chime in?

Not big on Carabba's or Carino's. They taste so... plastic.

But I do like Fazoli's and Olive Garden. As for some local flavor (with good food), I like Alta Cucina on Roan near downtown.

The Pollo Rosa Maria at Carabba's simply cannot be beat. [insert licking chops smilie here]

I am a huge fan of good Italian cooking (and I like my own pasta sauce the best, of course. But Carabbas was really good. The bread was great. It did not taste like "chain food" to me.

But I'll take your advise on trying Al Cucinas! My goal is to hit every restaurant in the city. I could be the official taste tester.

Never heard of Giiovanni's D. Where is it located? We'll have to "do lunch" -- I'll have my people (me) call your people (you) next time we're down and we'll give it a try.

Sounds like a good idea to me, Piney!! Giovanni's has two locations, one in Blountville and one in Boones Creek. Have only been to the Boones Creek location.

Look forward to hearing from "your people".

Piney, I like my own sauce the best too. I use the grease from my chicken or shrimp (if I'm using them), and add in Neufchatel Cheese with my flour and chicken broth. Yum!
