I heard on the radio a few times over the weekend that Mountain States Health Alliance is not only hiring but offering sign on bonuses again. They said they are offering pharmacists a 40K sign on and RN's 12k sign ons and to check their web site for more details.
Just passing on the info.

Thanks for thinking to post this. The wife and I are trying are best to make a move to this area. I've already gotten a job offer. It's for quite a bit less money than I currently make, but I believe the standard of living, all in all, will be better. Plus, my wife -- a nurse with a MS in nursing administration -- will likely make a little more in this area.

A lot of things have to fall into place in order for us to make the move, though... not the least of which being that our house has to sell... SOON!!!!

I'll post back whether or not this sign-on bonus offer is actually in effect. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for us!!!!

I will keep them crossed! Yes, wages are lower here and if you plan to be a homeowner here as well as there, the cost of living will be MUCH cheaper as far as cost of comparable house, taxes, insurance etc. Food and sales tax, not so much difference.

Thanks, mbmouse.

BTW, here's the 411 directly from an email yesterday from Teresa Herbert, senior nurse recruiter for MSHA:

"For a limited time we are offering a $12,000 sign on bonus for certain direct patient care positions at IPMC and JCMC. "

This pertains to the RNs only. I didn't ask about any other positions.

Is the bonus spread out over a number of years?

Correction: sign on bonus for Pharmacist at MSHA is 20,000 (not 40,000)
